You guys. I have something to confess: I’m not all that knowledgeable in makeup. Like, we’re talking very little knowledge at all.
I’m learning! But the truth is I still feel like such a freaking n00b.
I remember a couple of years ago seeing a live contouring demonstration at a beauty expo and literally counting how many layers of makeup this woman had on her face by the end, because it was so ridiculous. Though looking back I am fully aware this person’s contouring demonstration wasn’t the best example, it genuinely scared me out of ever trying it myself.
That is until this year. I’ve dabbled here and there with bronzers that came included in my makeup palettes, but hadn’t really committed to investing in some legit contouring products.
But then I came across Velvet 59’s contour palette and I felt it was a good price for a starter kit. It’s a cream to powder product, so I feel like as a beginner contourer, it’s a safe option. Plus I love the variety of shades, though I use about only 3.
I might not be an expert but I can say I think this stuff is great quality. It applies well, blends well, stays well and doesn’t feel like too much on my face. Plus it’s vegan and cruelty free, so boo-ya!
Let me know what you think if you too have tried it. And to you contour queens: Got any good contouring tips for me?
