Cooking with PW: Chipotle Salsa

The Pioneer Woman's Chipotle Salsa

Dear PW,

The other day I made your Chipotle Salsa from your A Year of Holidays cookbook. I thought it would make a great snack to have ready at-hand and my thinking sure proved right. We were about to head out for a blog shoot last weekend and I realized I was ravenous. However the dilemma was that I needed to hurry up and grab all that pretty lighting that was fading quickly outside. Lo and behold your salsa saved the day. It’s just so yummy and easy to make, I think I just might make it again for future busy day needs.

Speaking of busy, my blog keeps me busy. Like, real busy. But the idea of slowing it down is total nonsense to me.

Because, my blog is my passion. It has become my one outlet for all the many things that swirl around in my heart and brain. It’s the first thing I think of when I wake up in the morning, and the last thing I think of when I go to bed at night. It’s my number one focus and drive. It’s where I pour out the many inspirations that have filled me, and it’s where I learn I have so much more to be inspired by.

So, even though sometimes I feel like I’ve lost a little bit of my mind in the midst of it all, I can’t help but love the whole process anyway.

But here is something that gets me all riled up: why is it that when a woman gets cray cray busy with her work she is deemed as not caring about her spouse or family, but when a man does it he is deemed as determined and driven, successful even? I’m making a big toot sound with my mouth to symbolize how I feel about that.

Being an über successful blogger I’m sure you know more than I could imagine what busy blogging feels like. But hey, thanks for being such a cool, kick-ass woman. You make the rest of us ladies feel all inspired. You’re the best.

Sincerely,

Jess
